The Choir
Affiliate Member of The Royal Society of Church Music
Our choir meets every Tuesday at 7.30pm, and continues to grow in numbers and to learn new pieces for inclusion in Sunday worship.
The leadership role is now shared among a number of the members of the choir, and we have recently started a “junior choir”, which meets for half an hour before the main choir practice on Tuesday nights. We hope that the “juniors” will enjoy singing, and will want to stay on and become regular members of the choir in due course.
We continue to benefit from having our own organist, and take this opportunity to record our thanks for her invaluable contribution to the music at St. Leonard’s. At many other services througout the year the church benifits from other voluntary Organists and we are indebted to them.
The choir continues to be affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music, and we refer to their guidelines on training, and suggestions on appropriate music for the seasons of the church year.
We are always open to new members of all ages. If you like to sing, and would like to be involved in leading the musical worship Sunday by Sunday, please speak to Charles or Sheila.
